Store Los Berrazales
Bodega Los Berrazales is located at the foot of the Tamadaba cliffs and under centuries-old Canary Island pine forests. Located in La Finca de La Laja, famous for its oranges, coffee and wines. An estate that is more than 200 years old.
Listán negro vines planted and cultivated in an artisanal way by the Lugo-Jorge family, with the aim of recovering the agricultural and winemaking tradition of the area, culminate in a unique product. The care and love put into its production produce red and white wines, impregnated with the aromas and flavours of the Valley. The location of the vineyards almost at sea level, but in the hollow that forms the Agaete Valley, protects them from the salinity of the sea breeze.
In its short history, Bodegas Los Berrazales has already achieved important awards in the Canary Islands. Its semi-dry white wine won the Agrocanarias Gold Medal in 2011. The sweet wine won the First Prize in 2010 and the Third Prize in 2009 at the Gran Canaria Island Tasting. It is worth noting that its semi-dry white wine obtained a score of 89 out of 100 in the prestigious Peñín Guide 2010. At Bodega Los Berrazales we offer red, dry and semi-dry wines.
Bodega Los Berrazales offers the opportunity to learn about its winemaking work on site. Every day, from Monday to Friday, it receives visits with extended hours, and on Saturdays by appointment. During the guided tour, you can learn about the winemaking process, as well as orange and coffee crops on the La Laja estate. You can buy house wine, which comes bottled with a design by the Canarian artist Pepe Dámaso, who wants to reflect in its design the unrepeatable full moon nights and its extraordinary starry skies, as well as the shadow of the nearby cliffs that are projected on the estate.
The excellent treatment and meticulousness put into its elaboration produce an aromatic red wine, impregnated with the aromas and flavours of the Valley. Tradition and modernity merge and co-merge in a wine that, when tasted, evokes the surroundings, its special light, its dry wind, and the rain that falls from the nearby cliffs.
